Ferrari 488

The Ferrari 488 Challenge is a race-focused version of the 488, designed specifically for Ferrari’s racing series. Unlike the road-going models, it is built purely for the track, emphasizing performance, durability, and driver control. Introduced in 2016, it was the first Ferrari Challenge car to use a turbocharged engine.

It is powered by a modified 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8, similar to the standard 488 but tuned for consistent performance under racing conditions. The car produces around 670 horsepower and features revised gear ratios to improve acceleration out of corners. Engineers also reduced weight and enhanced aerodynamics, including a larger rear wing and redesigned front end for increased downforce.

The 488 Challenge includes advanced electronic systems, such as an upgraded traction control and vehicle dynamics system, allowing drivers to push the car closer to its limits. Its suspension, brakes, and tires are all optimized for track use, delivering exceptional grip and responsiveness. Overall, the Ferrari 488 Challenge offers a pure racing experience, combining cutting-edge technology with the raw excitement of competitive motorsport, making it a key model in Ferrari’s customer racing program.
