The AC Cobra has its roots in England at the small manufacturer A.C Cars. Their small and timeless car, The AC Ace, became the foundation for the American initiative led by Carroll Shelby to produce a sports car that could compete with the likes of Ferrari. The Ace was fitted with a 7.0L Ford V8 and renamed to the Cobra for its 1964-1967 production run.
This car is a replica produced by Butterfly in the 1980´s, the chassis is almost identical to the original whilst also more compatible with modern parts and loads. The frame and chassis was developed by Håkan Carlsson at Bäckstrands Ing. Byrå. A lot of this replica shares its parts with the Jaguar XJ6.
